I used white nails polish as my base color, then took a deep burgundy polish to create the claw marks. After that I took some red acrylic paint and failed at making splatter. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to create splatter? I would appreciate any info, since I am not good at it.
Only two days left of this challenge! It's going to be hard to choose which mani I will recreate. When there is a recreate day in a challenge, I like to choose another challengers work to recreate. That's why it will be so hard to decide, because there has been some really awesome manicures!
Until next time,
Erin
This turned out great!! I suck at splatter mani's, I've given up, I usually end up with a huge blob on my finger instead of delicate little blobs, you did a really good job!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The dark red-ish color is actually brush strokes and the lighter red is the splatter. I had huge blobs too! It's a hard technique, at least for me. It seems like it should be really easy right? Oh well, I'm glad you liked 'em :)
DeleteThis looks awesome! I've only done splatter once and a lot of the polish flew everywhere BUT my nails haha. I used red polish and dabbed some on the inside of the straw and then blew that out, that seemed to work the best.
ReplyDeleteOh ok, so the polish should be inside the straw! That does make sense! I must not have been doing that! I was only getting huge blobs after blowing and blowing through the straw. It was horrible. I got splatter to work better if I tapped the brush with paint against a table in the direction of my nails LOL I will have to try splatter again. I've been wanting to try the needle drip mani too but I'm thinking it's going to be a lot like splatter...Looks easy but it totally isn't. Thanks for the advice!
