"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 11: Recreate Your Favorite Manicure

Hello! It's HALLOWEEN! AHHHH! I am excited! I get to dress up at work, along with all of my co workers! It should be fun, the theme is Disney! Can you guess who I will be? I will be posting my costume nails tomorrow, along with me dressed in my costume! (Maybe if I get a good picture!) Anyways it's the last day of the "This is Halloween" Challenge! The objective was to recreate your favorite manicure done by someone else. I choose to recreate this adorable mummy gradient mani done by Amoki's Corner.

Aren't they just the cutest mummies ever?! I loved the way Amoki did her nails and what an amazing idea for the gradient challenge! I was very impressed and really loved her look, thus why I recreated it. :)

It wasn't that hard to do, I am actually rather impressed with myself on how clean my lines look. That was all done with my shaky hands people! WOO! I definitely have on my smug suspenders today.

What I used:
  • Base color: Sally Hansen White On
  • Gradient: SH White On, essence Irreplacable and Sally Hansen Golden-I
  • Black, white and red acrylic paint for the lines and eyes.
  • Nail art brushes and dotting tools

I wore these nails yesterday and had lots of compliments on them! This is definitely a look I will be doing again, I think they came out so cute! I'm said that October is basically over! It went by way to fast. I hope you all stick around to see more of my nail art. Thank you to my followers both new and old, I share my art for you! :) HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Until next time,
PeaceErin

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 10: Trick or Treat!

Hello! I have a simple candy corn design for my Trick or treat nails! I thought about stamping but I know a lot of people have been doing that as their trick or treats and I wanted to be different. Though I am not that different because I saw a design just like this and just loved it! Unfortunately  for the life of me I can't remember where I saw the design, so I can't properly give credit. Candy corn is a Halloween candy staple and one of my favorites of the season. I really like the variety pack with the original, cocoa and pumpkin ones!

I just painted my nails with a holographic polish, in this case OPI DS Extravagence, and once dry, I painted the candy corn shapes. First with white acrylic paint, they I painted most of it with the yellow and then the middle with orange. It was pretty simple and I think it came out so cute!

Now it's time to recreate my favorite from another challenger! I loved so many and this was a hard choice but I am currently wearing my recreation so look out for it tomorrow! Halloween's eve! I can't believe how fast time has flown. We get to dress up for work and I'm pretty excited. I'm doing special nails (which I will post probably on November first) and hopefully I will get a picture of me in my costume to share with you guys!

See you tomorrow!

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 9: Graveyard

Hello! Another late post. Apologies but life has been rather hectic as of late. I am just so excited that Halloween is in a couple of days! AH! I had fun doing today's challenge. Graveyards are spooky and perfect for Halloween. I choose to do some headstones and a dancing skeleton, I hope you guys like it!

What I used:
  • Base color: NYC Skin Tight Denim
  • A coat of Wet 'n Wild Teal of Fortune
  • Black and white acrylic paint
  • Sinful Colors Mint apple

I've been seeing some awesome graveyard manicures! Mine are simple but I like them. Only two days left of the challenge! I love doing challenges, I'm just a little sad that I didn't put my heart into the Halloween ones as much as I would have liked but starting a new job and having my family emergency has been very distracting. Up next is Trick or Treat nails, my design is simple but I hope you guys like what I came up with.

Until then,
PeaceErin

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 8: Witches

Hello all! I've been rather busy lately and haven't had time to do much of anything. So this post is several days late but that isn't going to prevent me from showing you what I came up with for witch nails. I wanted to make like a witches brew but I wasn't sure how to do it, so I choose to just do a simple stamping design with witch hats and a cat. I hope you guys like it!

What I used:
  • Base color: Nubar Reclaim
  • Stamp: BM 301
    • Ulta Sun of a Gun
    • Ulta Plum Perfect
    • essence Lime up!
  • Stamp: BM 209
    • Black stamping polish

Only three days remaining! I am so excited for Halloween! It's my absolute favorite holiday.

Until next time,
PeaceErin

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 7: Gradient

Hello all! Today I have some Halloween themed gradient nails for you. I still need practice with making gradients but I like the way this one came out. I choose to do orange to yellow with some black pumpkins, since the gradient by itself seemed a little boring.

What I used:
  • Base color: Sally Hansen Fashionista Orange
  • Gradient: Sally Hansen Sun Kissed, Fashionista Orange, Lightening
  • Sponge
  • Stamp: BM 305
  • Black stamping polish

I can't get over how quickly this month has been flying by! Halloween is next week! How insane!

See you tomorrow with more pumpkin nails!

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 6: Bats

Hello all! I am feeling absolutely sick today... I have a cold or something. Ick. Also, I know I have been so late with posting lately but it's not all my fault. The boyfriend has been without a laptop for a few weeks now and has been needing to use mine for work stuff. That's why this week I have been barely online. Hopefully he can get a laptop today and quite bothering me! :) Anyways, yesterday's post was suppose to be bats. Like I said, I am so sick right now, so my design isn't as cool as I would have liked but I wanted to post it anyways.

Looking at it now, I realize I should have done the white bats first to create a shadowing effect but oh well. I still think it came out kind of neat. I painted by nails yellow then sponged on a deep red color. I then used BM 31 to create the bats.

Next week we have Gradient and Witches, should be interesting but fun! I should be feeling better by then (hopefully.)

See you then!

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 5: Zombies

Hello all! This post is rather late and pretty short. I am currently going through a family crisis and I'm pretty stressed right now. I should get my four posts in for the week but if I don't, please don't hate me. :) Today's challenge was to create zombie nails. I just did zombie nails for the other Halloween Challenge that I am doing, you can see that post here. I honestly had no idea what to do for today. I saw an amazing zombie hand design but I honestly can't find the blog where I saw the cool design. I will keep trying to relocate it and then I will link it later. Anyways, the idea was to create grabbing zombie hands.

What I used:
  • Base color: Orly decades of dysfunction
  • Red and black acrylic paint
  • Nail art brushes
What do you guys think? I think they could have been creepier and more zombie like but oh well. Don't forget to check out all the amazing zombie nails below!

Until next time,
PeaceErin

"This is Halloween" Challenge! Day 4: Jack-O-Lanterns

Hello all! I had a lot of fun with today's challenge! The idea was to create nails with Jack-O-Lanterns! I wanted to do something fun with my pumpkins, so I used a holographic polish for my base color. I think it really made my nails look awesome!

I really don't have much to say about these nails, I think they are awesome and I hope you all like them. I used Nubar Reclaim as my base color and Sally Hansen Sun Kissed for the pumpkins. Everything else was acrylic paint. I hope you guys enjoyed my nails for today, later on I will be posting a guest post! And don't forget to check out the other Jack-O-Lanterns for today. I'm not sure where the new posts start though...

Later!

"This is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge! Day 3: Ghosts

Hello all! Today's challenge is ghosts! I absolutely love ghosts and just created a fun ghostly manicure for the 31 day challenge. I was very happy with that post, you can see it here. So for today's challenge I wanted to use one of the ghosts that I used for the last mani and I decided to go with Casper. Casper is a friendly ghost and he occasionaly has problems with these other ghosts, known as the Ghostly Trio. I've seen the early cartoons and the movies. Since Casper was a big part of my childhood, I thought he would be a fun ghost design, so I decided to create a design with him and the Ghostly Trio.

My nails depict (from thumb to pinky) Fatso, Stinky, Casper, Stretch and Casper's name. I knew the ghosts would just be black and white, so I decided to use a fun Holographic nail polish as the back ground. I think it really works! When I was telling Tara about the polish I totally said Horrorgraphic...haha I guess it's rather fitting for the ghosts!

What I used:
  • Base color: Kleancolor Holo Chrome
  • Black and white acrylic paint
  • Fine tipped nail art brush
So what do you guys think? I really love the way they came out! My thumb with Fatso makes me think of the earrings I use to have. The Fatso earrings were a tad heavy but I loved to wear them every October. I am pretty sad that they have gone missing. What is something you wear every October to celebrate Halloween? I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with for today's challenge!

Up next for this challenge is Jack-O-Lanterns! I am pretty excited to do these. By the way! I am starting my new job today! It's only part time but I am nervous about it and I'm not sure how my schedule will be so I might be a bit slow with blogging and returning comments! Also, I was asked to do a tutorial, which is coming but I have been having problems with it. Hopefully I can get it out to you guys soon.

Until next time,
PeaceErin

This is Halloween Challenge! Day 2: Watermarble

Hello all! Today's "This is Halloween" challenge was to create a water marble. I love water marble nails but I'm just not good at them. I know a lot of bloggers feel this way. It's definitley a technique that takes time, patience, and practice. With that said, I think with practice maybe I will get better at them. My thumb never seems to come out right... I was thinking witches, so I choose to use Halloween colors; purple, green, orange, and black.

So what do you think?
What I used:

  • Base color: Sally Hansen White On
  • Sally Hansen Sun Kissed, Black Out
  • L.A. Colors Fun in the Sun
  • essence Lime Up!
  • Dixie cup
  • Room temp. bottle water

Next week is Ghosts and Jack-O-Lanterns, Halloween staples! I'm looking forward to it. Also, I was going to start the Where in the World? Challenge today but I am not feeling so well so I am going to postpone it until next week. Hope you aren't too disappointed. I just really didn't have it in me.

Until next time,
PeaceErin

"This is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge! Day 1: Horror Movies

Hello all! I have decided to do another nail art challenge! This one was created by Bec of Lacquer Dreams. It technically started yesterday, but I found out about it last night and figured I should join in! This one has Ghosts and graveyard! How cool is that? So as of now I am currently doing two Halloween nail art challenges and two Halloween nail art contests. I'm also doing the Let's Do the Time Warp Challenge, which ends tomorrow, and on Friday I will be starting another challenge. I am a busy one! Today's objective was to create a design inspired by a horror movie.

I get scared horribly easier so I am not a huge fan of horror movies. I haven't seen many in my life, so my choices were limiting. I decided to go with one of my all time favorite movies, (which might not be considered a horror movie) Sleepy Hollow. When I saw it for the first time it really scared the crap out of me. Christopher Walken as the headless horsemen is pretty frightening!

This is pretty horrifying, right?
I hope this counts as a horror film. I know the story that the movie is based off of is a scary story, so it should count right? I think anything that includes a headless horseman should could has horror. For my nail art design I choose to go Tim Burton style and make it all grey and dark. I hope you all enjoy it!

I just love how the tree on my thumb came out. This is the tree that Ichabod discovers to be the gateway to hell. I'm very happy with all the detail. If you haven't seen the movie, I recommend that you do!

What I used:
  • Base coat: OPI Skull & Glossbones
  • Black, white, red, yellow acrylic paint
  • Sally Hansen Silver Sweep
  • Nail art brushes
As I write this post I can't help but wonder... Is Halloween Johnny Depp's favorite holiday? I really hope it is! I really want to watch this movie now! Well I hope you enjoyed my post!

See you tomorrow!
PeaceErin
